Ebola, fantasia ed erbe magiche: L’omeopatia

Giusto una settimana fa vi parlavo di quanto la medicina tradizionale cinese potesse essere di grandissimo aiuto per prevenire, magari anche curare, l’Ebola. Pensavo che potesse essere il punto più basso raggiungibile da certe “fazioni”, ma mi sbagliavo. Come ci racconta Science Blogs, su Natural News sono riusciti a scendere ancora più in basso dandoci anche la ricetta per prepararci in casa un rimedio omeopatico per curarci dal pericolosissimo virus Ebola. Se sapete già come funziona la preparazione di un rimedio omeopatico potete rabbrividire senza vergogna. Per quanto mi riguarda sarà l’ultima volta che tratterò Ebola, promesso.

Un passo alla volta. Ecco un riassuntino su Science Blogs:

I was thinking of blogging about it, but decided not to because I thought at the time: I’ve already written about this topic once, and I don’t see anything in the post to resurrect the topic. I thought that maybe I’d do it for yesterday—or maybe not, depending on what popped up. The post kept popping up on Twitter as an example of extreme foolishness. So I checked it out, and, yes, this is what I found:

Whoa. I couldn’t believe it. Here, it appears, was a post so irresponsible that it was too irresponsible even for Mike Adams, a post that was too quacky for the quackmaster himself! That’s some weapons-grade quackery, a black hole of stupidity, and any other mixing of metaphors for ridiculousness I could think of. Ci è stato segnalato un post nel quale veniva raccomandato un metodo molto discutibile a riguardo della prevenzione di Ebola. Il post è stato rimosso in attesa di    ulteriori verifiche e il blogger è in attesa di valutazione. Natural News non vuole indicare a nessuno di interagire direttamente con Ebola, minaccia biologica      estremamente pericolosa.
Whoa, non ci potevo credere. Un post così irresponsabile che era troppo irresponsabile addirittura per Mike Adams, un post così cialtrone anche per il gran maestro della cialtroneria. Questa è cialtroneria pesante, un buco nero di stupidità e tutte le metafore per sottolinearne la ridicolezza a cui posso pensare. Stranamente il post non era stato scritto dallo stesso Adams, a differenza dalla maggior parte dei post che sono più lontani possibili dalla realtà, ma era di un blogger norvegese di nome Ken Oftedal

Su Natural News danno voce in sostanza a tutte le forme possibili di fuffa e cialtroneria immaginabile, ma questa volta era così grossa la scemenza che hanno dovuto rimuoverlo! Ma cosa potrebbero aver scritto di così assurdo? Stavolta ho deciso di scrivere poco, non voglio fare una vera debunkata, ma voglio solo farvi capire il livello di follia di chi vi propone certi tipi di cura, di quanto siano pericolosi e, come dicono su Science Blogs, distaccati dalla realtà. Ecco il capolavoro:

How to Make an Ebola Remedy for a Person Sick with Ebola
What you need:

1. A face mask and gloves
2. Two bottles (50 ml up to 500 ml glass or plastic bottles) with caps
3. Clean water (mineral or tap water)
4. An Ebola sample: some spit or other disease product, such as blood, from the person infected with Ebola. Any small quantity will do, even a pinhead.
5. An alcoholic liquid, such as whisky, brandy, rum, etc.
6. Half an hour of your time.

Procedure:

1. Fill the bottle with water, leaving about 20% space at the top.
2. Place the Ebola sample in the water in the bottle.
3. Close the top of the bottle with the cap.
4. Hold the bottle and strike it hard against a solid surface, such as a large book, 40 times.
5. Pour out the contents of the bottle.
6. Refill the bottle with water (the fluid remaining on the inside surface of the bottle will serve as the next Ebola sample).
7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 a total of 30 times.

Storage:

1. Pour the bottle solution into another bottle—your stock bottle.
2. Add 10% by volume of the alcoholic liquid (whisky, brandy, etc.) as a preservative.
3. Store in a place away from sunlight and electronic equipment.

Using  this stock bottle, you can supply the Ebola remedy to as many people who are sick with Ebola you want. With one drop from the stock bottle as an Ebola sample you can produce another stock bottle to give to someone else. Instead of the original Ebola sample you used above to make the original stock bottle, you use a drop from the first stock bottle. This process can be carried out ad infinitum, supplying a whole city of people sick with Ebola, etc., if needed.

Se non avete capito bene il succo è questo: il buon Ken sta suggerendo di usare un metodo isopatico per curare l’Ebola. L’autore ci suggerisce questa semplice ricetta invitando i lettori, armati solo di mascherina e guanti in lattice, a raccogliere dei campioni infetti del virus mortale, imbottigliarlo con acqua e alcool, diluirlo per 30 volte per “potenziarlo” e poi distribuire questo rimedio, potenzialmente infetto, a chiunque ne abbia bisogno.

Tralasciando la follia del principio per cui una certa quantità di virus diluito per decine di volte possa avere qualche effetto sulla malattia, si sta praticamente invitando gente assolutamente non competente a maneggiare un virus mortale, ricordiamolo che è di livello 4 di biorischio, rischiando così di ammalarsi a sua volta e trasportare materiale potenzialmente infetto in giro tranquillamente.

Anche Natural News, grande raccoglitore di porcate portale aperto a qualunque baggianata che giri su internet, non ha potuto mantenere un articolo così osceno e pericoloso. Comunque il grandissimo Ken ha postato sul suo blog l’articolo, così chi abbia voglia di andare a salvare gli africani dalla epidemia possa avere le istruzioni corrette. Ovviamente ci sono anche le indicazioni su come somministrare la cura perché ci sono delle regole ben precise da seguire:

How to Ingest Homeopathic Remedies

There should be no taste in your mouth on taking a homeopathic remedy. Thus, you should not eat or drink anything (besides water) at least fifteen minutes before and after taking it.
This also applies to smoking. Nor should there be any strong odor, such as from perfume, incense, etc. present in the room. You can take a homeopathic remedy any time of the day or night, keeping these points in mind.

La parte più importante è questa:

Evitate di toccare la pillola con le vostre dita per impedire al vostro campo energetico di neutralizzare le informazioni contenute.

Quindi toccare con le nostre ditacce cariche di campo energetico farebbe sparire le proprietà curative del rimedio, mentre appoggiarle sulla lingua no. E perché mai? Quali informazioni curative? Siamo al livello di stregoneria: altro che Cialtronevo, torniamo indietro al paleolitico. Incredibilmente non ci sono indicazioni sulle fasi lunari, ciclo mestruale, colore degli abiti, taglio di capelli o preferenze musicali… Siamo a livello criminale e spero vivamente che nessun sito italiano si azzardi a suggerire un metodo così stupido e pericoloso.

Ovviamente l’articolo è colmo di cialtroneria, ma non c’è necessità di analizzarlo. Quello che mi premeva è farvi capire il livello di stupidità e pericolosità di affidarsi a certi metodi. Il grande Ken vince i seguenti Butac Awards:
